Our Proud History of Service
Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels and More is a merger of four small agencies, each with a long history of service to the community:
- Kitchener-Waterloo Friendship Group for Seniors
- Meals on Wheels and Community Home Support (Cambridge)
- Meals on Wheels of Kitchener-Waterloo
- RAISE Home Support Service for the Elderly
Each of these agencies were dedicated to helping to improve the quality of life in Waterloo Region for their clients. In fact, all of the agencies became known for their dedicated staff and loyal volunteers.
The rationale for the merger was to provide better services to clients in a larger geographical area while operating more cost effectively.
The four organizations officially amalgamated on May 2nd, 2008 to become Community Support Connections - Meals on Wheels and More.
Today, Community Support Connections functions as a centralized source for community home support services in the Waterloo Region. We continue to work towards supporting each and every one of our clients and volunteers, and fostering a community where everyone feels at home - valued, connected and empowered.
