Give the Gift of Caring
Looking for a gift for that hard to buy for person? Why not buy a gift with meaning?
March for Meals reminds us that nutrition is an important part of our lives, one many of us take for granted every day. Yet there are hundreds of people in our own community who have difficulty getting the nutrition they need, either due to financial barriers, or due to a lack of accessibility.
For a number of seniors, getting out to their local grocery store is impossible. Loss of their driver’s license, or the physical strain of carrying and lugging groceries creates barriers to nutrition that can lead to serious degenerative effects on overall health and wellbeing, often leading to costly hospital admissions and chronic illness.
Meals on Wheels not only provides healthy, nutritious meals at subsidized rates to those who face financial barriers, but thanks to hundreds of friendly volunteers who deliver meals right to the door, those who find themselves unable to get out to get their meals are able to get the nutrition they need on a daily basis.
We have made helping these vulnerable members of our community that much easier. You can share your generosity by purchasing either our new 2012 Menu Calendar, or by purchasing a "Feed-a-Senior" gift card. Both make excellent gifts, not only for your loved one, but to a senior or adult with a disability in your community who need your help.
Menu Calendars - $20

Our Raffle Calendar combines the best of all worlds! A convenient sized calendar combined with delicious and easy to make recipe ideas from our own Meals on Wheels Program; a fun raffle with a chance to win one of 12 great prizes; and best of all, knowledge that the money raised goes to support not one, but two local organizations working in your community to support seniors and adults with disabilities.
The raffle calendar is being presented thanks to a new partnership with Guelph Independent Living.
Feed-a-Senior - $15 or $50
Buy a donation card that will feed a senior for a week for just $15, or feed a senior for an entire month for only $50. All donations support our meals subsidy program, enusring that our most vulnerable seniors have access to the meals they need. We can individualize your donation card with requested personal messages upon request, and then the cards are conveniently mailed right to your door.
To order your calendar and donation cards, contact Rosalind Horne at (519) 772-8787 x 225.
